Grand Refresh in Grand Ledge

Project Goals:

  • One of the first goals was to keep the kitchen within a specified budget while still making a significant impact to the look and feel of the space.
  • Keep the existing layout and flooring as a means to reduce overall costs.
  • Update cabinets with a cabinet reface (new doors and drawers) to revitalize the outdated kitchen.
  • Install new brighter quartz countertops.
  • Improve the kitchen lighting through improved under-cabinet and ceiling lighting.

Project Overview

This is a wonderful example of how much impact can be done to a kitchen while keeping costs lower. Because the size and functionality of the kitchen was good, the option to refresh the kitchen through cabinet painting, new doors, and new drawers, became a great option to breath life into the outdated dark kitchen. The updates to the backsplash tile with the Marlow Cloude Matte 3x12 subway tile gives a brand new look versus the outdated backsplash tile that existed previously. Because the kitchen layout stayed the same, the homeowner was able to keep plumbing, HVAC, and electrical in the same locations which saves significant costs on the remodel. The ovens and refrigerator were updated and modifications to the cabinet at the oven were required to fit the new oven sizes. The homeowner was able to get this kitchen remodel done in a relatively short timeframe and the kitchen was ready for them in time for the holidays!
