  • Reports To: Project Manager

 

I. Accountability and Scope

  • A “hands-on” position that actively manages all field activities related to assigned projects and trade partners working on-site.
  • Perform pre-order measurements, delivery audits, installation audits, and monitor Carpenter and Carpenter Helper performance.
  • Goal: Achieve 100% Customer Satisfaction while managing project costs and minimizing warranty and service trips.
  • Ensure all safety requirements are met.

 

II. Functions

The following functional responsibilities are not all-inclusive and may be subject to change as better understanding of position becomes available and therefore certain responsibilities may be altered or deleted, and additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary.

 

First and Foremost, Lead Carpenter Foremen need to know and understand that the “Project Managers” role is one of supervising and assisting.  Please Note: The Lead Carpenter Foremen position and the Project Manager position may have some overlapping responsibilities.

 

      • Contract Reading & Online File Review: Read & review ALL information to confirm, identify and/or address any information not provided, that concerns to the constructability of the project.
      • Monitor the progress of assigned projects by the following methods: Visually observing Trade Partners, Logging of ALL activities using ConstructionOnline and updating schedules posted on ConstructionOnline.
      • Perform field measurements to ensure proper product fit and function.
      • Make recommendations to Design/Estimator for construction changes required for proper product fit and function. Document and communicate all of these changes or issues using ConstructionOnline.
      • Communicate to Project Manager production changes or issues that may impact delivery date and/or completion date. Document and communicate all of these issues using ConstructionOnline.
      • Regularly review status of all field activities with Project Manager.
      • Monitor item(s) and material orders, date/time of receipt, and all jobsite material deliveries in order to plan for project staging and installation needs.
      • Manage field activities to ensure all safety requirements are met.
      • Perform field inspections of deliveries & installs to ensure quality, accuracy and completeness.
      • Proactively address & deal with all concerns and issues to assure timely completion of field activities. Log all issues & concerns of all aspects of all parties involved, ie., client(s), employee(s), trade partner(s), material supplier(s), delivery personnel, etc..
      • Be a focused, observant and integral team member of the Phase 2, onsite Team Meeting.
      • Present a professional competent image as an expert in remodeling and related fields.
      • Participate in various training and other job and self performance improvement activities as requested by management.
      • Reporting Schedule updates daily utilizing ConstructionOnline.
      • Perform job site visits when convenient and when needed. Coordinate with PM to maximize productivity.
      • Act as “point person” for Client Communication during project.
      • Responsible for Client Reviews. Fill out and have Customer Approval signed by client(s).
      • Collect ALL Payment draws per Project Schedule and Draw Schedule.
      • Coordinate, Assign & Facilitate On-Site OFC Labor. Coordinate with PM
      • Completion/Reporting of Punch List items utilizing ConstructionOnline. Fill out Customer Satisfaction and Punch List Report and have signed by client(s).
      • Communicate ALL Change Orders to PM whether desired by Client or necessitated by condition(s).
      • Confirm -or- Prepare site for the next Trade Partners activities, to assure a smooth transition from activity to activity.
      • On-Going Communication with Trade Partners
      • Returns: Coordinate physical returns with PM/Supplier.
      • Create Project Logging Reports to be emailed to PM on a weekly basis.
      • Install Job Signs in front yard of client’s home, pick up when job is complete and return to shop. Document Sign Number for each job.
      • Obtain and turn in any & all receipts.
      • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

III. Qualifications and Skill Requirements

    • High school education and some undergraduate school desired.
    • 1-2 years experience in the construction industry and working knowledge of industry terminology.
    • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
    • Must present a professional image and attitude at all times.
    • Must be detail-oriented, excellent communicator, highly organized and be able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
    • Working knowledge of I-Pad.
    • Must have a valid driver license and clean DMV record.
      • MDOT/Medcard
      • Chauffer’s License
